Hibbard, Wayne Clair “Dog” (17 October 1940 – 15 June 2017) With Flag
Wayne C. “Dog” Hibbard, 76, or Greenwood died peacefully June 15, 2017, at the
Clark County Living and Rehabilitation Center in Owen.
Wayne Clair Hibbard was born Oct. 17, 1940, in Marshfield to Harlowe and Anita
(Meyer) Hibbard. He graduated from Colby High School in 1958, and then attended
UW-La Crosse. Wayne served in the U. S. Army from Jan. 23, 1961, to oct. 29,
1963, being stationed overseas in Africa and Europe. In 1967, he was united in
marriage to Arlene Schoop in Illinois. They later divorced. Wayne spent 34 years
working for Trans World Airlines, retiring in 1997. He then worked for the u. S.
Postal Service, and served as postmaster in Loyal.
Wayne had many interests but especially loved spending his time at Mead Lake,
was an avid outdoorsman, and just enjoyed being outdoors.
He is survived, by two sons Shane (Sandy) Hibbard of Glen Ellyn, IL, and Damon
(Amy) Hibbard of Schaumburg, IL; five grandchildren, Nathan, Damon, Maggie,
Patrick, and Sydney; one brother-in-law, Ken Schulz of Florida; and nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marlene Schulz.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Parkway Pines Supper Club, N10005 Hwy 73,
Greenwood, Saturday, July 8, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Diabetes
Research Institute Foundation at
www.diabetesresearch.org.
