A special afternoon service at the site of the new St. John's Lutheran Church at
Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) will mark the laying of the cornerstone for the new
structure. All are invited to the 2:30 p.m. service and are welcome to wear
casual clothes and take a look inside the new building.
Among the items to be included in the capsule within the cornerstone will be a
copy of the Owen Enterprise, a booklet published at the 50th Anniversary
observance of the old building, a copy of the present church constitution, a
copy of the American Bible Society's new translation of the Bible, "Good News
for Modern Man." This list is incomplete at this time and will be published at a
later date.
The service will give witness to the fact that the church building is dedicated
to the Glory of God, and that our faith is "built on the precious Cornerstone,"
Jesus Christ.
Other events of the day will be a chicken dinner served in the present church
dining room beginning at 11:30 a.m.
