Telin, Solomon (1 MAY 1877 – 20 OCT 1968)

At two o'clock yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, October 23, 1968, funeral services for Solomon Telin were held at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home. The service was in charge of Rev. Leroy Urman, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church at Withee, and burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charles Telin, John Telin, Arno Ryoti, and Toivo Ryoti, Eric Telin and Ervin Zelm.

Mr. Telin was a former resident of this community (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.(, but of late years had made his home in Albion, Iowa, where he passed away Sunday in Monroe County Hospital, Albion. He was 91 years of age.

Mr. Telin was born in Finland on May 1, 1877. He was married there to Ida Limmel, who preceded him in death in 1917. They came to this country and settled in Oregon, where he was a lumberjack. In 1918 he was married to Mrs. Mary Ryoti, who died in 1965. They lived for nine years in Iowa, and then came to Owen and farmed in the town of Hoard. After he retired from farming he moved to Illinois, where he was employed at Lake Forest Academy for eight years. He had made his home with his son John at Albion, Iowa, up until the time of his death.; Charles, Menasha; Eric, Owen; one daughter, Mrs. Ervin (Mamie) Zelm, Withee; two step-sons, Arvil Ryoti, Oak Park, Ill.; Toivo Ryoti, Waukegan, Ill.; twenty grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
