Zager, Evelyn (6 July 1929 – 4 July 2017)
Evelyn Zager, 87, of Neillsville died July 4, 2017, at the Care and
Rehab-Neillsville with her son and daughter at her side. She was born July 6,
1929, to John Sr. and Beulah Ormond, in the Town of Weston. She married Peter
Zager, Jr. Jan. 19, 1946, who preceded her in death in March of 2008. She lived
in the same northside neighborhood of Neillsville for 65 years. She enjoyed
trips to Las Vegas, Reno, Alaska, and the Western United States.
She is survived by her son, Bernard (Thyra) Zager (Capt. USAF Ret.) of Las
Vegas, NV, and her daughter, Patricia Zager, who has resided with her for the
past seven years. She is further survived by grandchildren Andrew Zager of Las
Vegas, Felice (Jason) Dunphy and twin sons, Nathan and Noah of Reno, NV, and
Matthew (Anna) Zager, and son Henry Theodore of Gallatin, MO. She is further
survived by a brother Ted (Susan) Ormond, and his family of Stoughton.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother John Ormond, Jr.,
and sisters, Beatrice Bayuk, Charlotte Praq, and Ethel Zager.
Funeral services for Evelyn were held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, at the
Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. Rev. Dr.
Dwayne Winterberg, chaplain of St. Croix Hospice conducted the service with
burial in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
