Long, Sherman (30 JAN 1903 – 19 DEC 1968)
Sunday afternoon, December 22, 1968, funeral services were held for Sherman Long
at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Curtiss (Burial was at Riverside Cemetery near
Withee). Mr. Long, 65, died at his home Thursday evening of an apparent heart
attack.
Mr. Long was born in Springdale, Washington, January 30, 1903. He was married to
Anna Newman of Owen on November 14, 1926. The couple came to Owen (Clark Co.,
Wis.) in 1930. He operated a service station in Curtiss for 20 years before
retiring three years ago.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Sherman Long Jr. of Manitowoc;
four daughters, Mrs. Warren (Betty) Meyers, Racine; Mrs. Edmond (Dorothy)
Rohland, Withee; Mrs. Lawrence (Joyce) Klemetson, Curtiss, and Mrs. William
(Marion) Ridpath, Owen; twenty-four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
