Loomis Erna (Diestelhorst) (8 MAY 1936 - 4 JUL 2017)
Erna Loomis passed into the arms of the Lord on July 4, 2017 at Sylvan Crossings
in Wausau, WI.
She was born May 8, 1936 to Otto and Marie Diestelhorst in Rib Lake, WI. Erna
married Donald Loomis on June 2, 1956. He preceded her in death on October 3,
2000. Erna was a loving wife and mother of 7 children. She enjoyed knitting,
crocheting, camping, polkas and being surrounded by her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Lynn) Loomis, Park Falls; Daniel
Loomis, Orfordville; Kathleen Waupekenay, Wausau; Patrick (Barb) Loomis, DePere;
Kevin (Lucy) Loomis, South Milwaukee; Michael (Paula) Loomis, Schofield and
Donna (Glenn Yusten) Loomis, Mosinee. She is further survived by her 19
grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, her brothers, Leonard (Janet)
Diestelhorst; Vern (Joanne) Diestelhorst; sisters, Alice (Vern) Nutting; Marian
(Dennis) Shaver; Leona (Marty) Leopoldt; Linda (Ed) Palechek; brother in law,
James Loomis and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, 1 brother in law,
2 sisters in law, a son in law, Henry, and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held at Peace United Church of Christ in Schofield,
WI on Saturday, July 22, 2017. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm and Services will
be at 3 pm. Pastor Gloria Van Houten and Pastor Larry Treece will co-officiate
the service.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sylvan Crossings for all their help
and compassionate care during our mother’s residence and Aspirus Hospice Care.
Memorials may be directed towards the family.
