Corey, Lynn Jeanine (4 July 1958 – 7 July 2017)

Lynn Jeanine Corey, 59, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017, at home of ovarian cancer.

Lynn was born July 4, 1958, and was raised in Neillsville, where she graduated from High school in 1976. She moved to Tucson, AZ, in 1977. In 1981, she graduated from Pima Community College with an associate’s degree in nursing, and began her career as a registered nurse, Lynn continued nursing in various departments, finding her love of nursing in endoscopy, where she spent most of her career.

She married Michael Fischella in 1984, with the hopes of starting a family. However, in 1989, Lynn was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. In 1990, they adopted their first son, Philip, and their second son, Ryan, in 1991. Lynn was divorced in 2005, and stayed in Tucson until 2014. It was then, she moved to Great Falls.

Over 28 years, her cancer had come back six times, each time more severe than the last. Lynn remained positive and light-hearted about her condition through to the very end. She cared about everyone before herself; such is the life of a nurse. She found joy in cooking, gardening and pickle ball.

Lynn is survived by her sons, Philip and Ryan, her father, Gary (Lois) Corey; and her brother Howard (Jolee) Corey.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carole, and her brother, David.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

As per Lynn’s request, no services are planned.
