Lautenbach, Betty Lou (10 September 1932 – 29 June 2017)
Betty Lou Lautenbach, 84, of Granton passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017, in
Fairborn, OH, after battling cancer.
Betty was born Sept. 10, 1932, in Granton to Henry and Lenore (Qually) Seltrecht.
She graduated from Granton High School.
She married Norman Lautenbach in November 1950. Norman died in 2010.
Betty loved working in her flowers while trying to make sure the deer didn’t eat
them all. She loved all things sparkly, so it was no surprise when she started
making jewelry. She made dozens of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. She also
enjoyed going to garage sales, and thrift stores to find the perfect purchase –
whether it was a bargain item, or a treasure that might show up on Antique
Roadshow.
Betty is survived by her children Linda (Dave) Cox of Fairborn, OH; Lon (Deanne)
Lautenbach of New Berlin, and Bill Lautenbach of New Berlin; six grandchildren,
Christopher (Theresa) Cox, Bethany (Ben) Smith, Mark Cox, Amber (Sal)
Lautenbach, Rachel Lautenbach, and Emily Lautenbach; and seven
great-grandchildren, Kayla, Carter, and Grace Smith; Matthew, Braydon, and Kyler
Cox; and Kaitlyn Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, her parents, her sister
Lorraine Seltrecht, and her brother Bob Seltrecht.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at Zion
American Lutheran Church, W2840 Hill Road, Granton.
