Tommy Lee Collinson, 61, Las Vegas, Nev., passed away on June 23, 2017, due to heart failure. A celebration of life will be held in Good Springs, Nev., on Aug. 11, and in Wisconsin on a date to be determined.

Tommy was born on June 22, 1956, to Harold and Marliss (nee Uhrig) Collinson, in Woodstock, Ill. He grew up in the Loyal area, graduating from Loyal Public Schools in 1974. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior, graduated, and was commissioned in May 1978 to the U.S. Air Force. He led his life as an adventurer and mentor, all while being dedicated to aviation. After leaving the Air Force, he worked as a flight dispatcher. Allegiant Airlines employed him at the time of his death. Tom had a very generous heart, an unwavering work ethic, and a passion for fine wines and good cigars. He thoroughly enjoyed entertaining family and friends whenever there was an opportunity.

Tom is lovingly survived by his wife, Cheryl (Van Massenhove) Collinson; a son, Travis Collinson; a daughter, Marcy Collinson: his parents, Harold and Marliss Collinson: his siblings: Debra (Daniel) McNeely, Judy (Donald) Hill, Keith (Marja) Collinson, Karen (David) Gallion, Mark (Shawn) Collinson, and Janalee (Gerald) Graham; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Honoring his allegiance to our nation’s military, memorials can be forwarded to: Disabled Veterans of America or The Highground Veterans Memorial Park, Neillsville.
