Lewandowski, Robert J. (22 NOV 1934 - 7 JUL 2017)
Robert J. Lewandowski, age 82, of Thorp, passed away at Country Terrace, in
Stanley, WI, on Friday, July 7, 2017. Funeral services were held at 10:30
a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at St. Bernard - St. Hedwig Catholic Church in
Thorp with Rev. Janusz Kowalski officiating. Visitation was held at the church,
on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Robert Joseph Lewandowski was born on November 22, 1934, in Thorp, WI, to
Stephen and Susan (Lamanski) Lewandowski. He was raised and received his
education in the Thorp area, graduating from Thorp High School in 1953.
After completing his education, Bob farmed in the Town of Reseburg until
retiring in 1999. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Palenik on April 3,
1976, at St. Bernard - St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp.
Bob had many interests, but especially enjoyed woodworking, and building and flying radio controlled airplanes.
He was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church, and the Knights of
Columbus Queen of Peace Council #4634.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, of Thorp; four children: Stephen
Lewandowski of Superior, WI, Cathleen (Tony) Paar of Marengo, IL, William (Aracelli)
Palenik of Sierra Vista, AZ, Patrick Palenik of Thorp; four nd grandchildren:
Robert, William and Sarah Palenik, and David Paar; one sister, Connie (Andrew)
Sweetana of Indianapolis, IN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Vernon Lewandowski; three
sisters: Marian VerBunker, Margaret Nelson and Helen Leibelt.
