Parker, Delbert L. (15 SEP 1933 - 15 JUL 2017)
Delbert L. Parker, age 83 of Medford, passed away on July 15, 2017 at Aspirus
Hospital in Medford after being taken there by ambulance.
Delbert was born on September 15, 1933 the son of Ernest and Estel (Kent)
Parker. He was born and raised on a farm in Taylor County. He served his country
in the United States Army enlisting on December 1, 1953 and received his
honorable discharge on November 10, 1955.
He was a member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association. With
his sense of humor and writing ability, he entertained his fellow workers with a
monthly issue of his shop newspaper. Delbert was also an avid sports fan usually
rooting for the underdog.
Delbert is survived by four sisters and one brother, Ernestine Shields, Leta
Faye Reimann, Norma Kennedy, Margreta Westrich and Larry Parker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Buck.
Interment will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Abbotsford
Public Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Colby VFW Post #2227.
A memorial in Delbert’s name is being established at the Medford Memorial
Library. The family would like to thank all those who attended and expressed
