Ruppelt, Michael E. (29 JAN 1948 - 8 JUL 2017)
Michael E. Ruppelt, 69, formerly of Cornell, passed away peacefully Saturday,
July 8, 2017, at Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire, with his family at his
side.
Michael was born to Arthur A. Ruppelt and Lorraine (Pederson) Ruppelt, Jan. 29,
1948.
He grew up in the Osseo and Augusta areas. Michael attended high school in
Osseo, and graduated from Augusta High School in 1966.
After high school, he joined the Air Force and was medically discharged because
of his health.
Michael married Bonnie Erdman. With Bonnie, he was blessed with two boys and a
girl – Bradley (Andre’) Coleman, David Ruppelt and Debra Ruppelt. Bonnie and
Michael divorced.
He then married La Vonne Watson of Cornell, Nov. 24, 1972. Michael and La Vonne
were married for 42 years until La Vonne’s passing. He later married Marilyn
Saule of the Greenwood area, July 11, 2015.
Michael enjoyed going to auctions, hunting, fishing and working with the Amish
community. Michael and La Vonne also liked working at small carnivals –
operating cheesecurd and lemonade stands during the summer.
He is survived by his wife – Marilyn; sons – Bradley (Andre’) Coleman and David
Ruppelt; four grandchildren – Devon, Tamara, Nathaniel and Natasha; mother –
Lorraine Hansen; stepfather – Del Hansen; sisters – Linda (Larry) Cox, Goose
Creek, S.C., and Laura (Gerald) Herrick, Augusta; brother – Ronald (Wanda)
Ruppelt, Merkel, Texas; sister – Sharon (Dennis) Nelson, Eau Claire; many nieces
and nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his daughter – Debra Ruppelt; father – Arthur
Ruppelt; grandparents – Herman and Stella Ruppelt, and Lawrence and Josephine
Pederson; and wife – La Vonne Ruppelt.
Visitation will be at Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott, Saturday, July 22, from
9-11 a.m., followed by services at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the
Brooklawn Cemetery in Cadott.
A special thank you to the nursing staff at Dove Healthcare West, and to hospice
for the care and kindness they provided Michael and his family.
