Friday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Jim Roberson of Milwaukee arrived here for a
weekend visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Roberson.
Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Barager drove to Madison Saturday, where they visited their
children, Jim and Barby, students at the U, and Jean, who teaches at Monroe.
That afternoon they attended the Wisconsin-Michigan State basketball game, and
then had dinner that evening with T. Col. And Mrs. Clarence DeCremer and son
Jim, former Owen residents, who now reside at Sun Prairie.
Dr. and Mrs. A. Phillips left Saturday on a two week vacation trip to Wales,
England.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Riber left early Saturday morning for Sheboygan and remained
until Sunday visiting the home of her aunt and uncle.
Over the weekend Bob Richardson Jr., a student at Stout State University,
Menomonie, visited here with his father, Bob Richardson.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thorson and Orville Thorson of Minneapolis were Sunday
visitors here with the Men’s brother, Harry, who has been ill, and other
relatives and friends.
Tuesday forenoon Mr. and Mrs. John Potocnik left on a two week vacation trip
that will include a flight to Hawaii.
On Saturday the Owen Boy Scouts enjoyed an outing at Perkinstown, at which time
Cal Couillard had the misfortune of breaking an ankle.
Mr. and Mrs. James List attended the Foremost Dairy banquet Saturday night, at
which time they visited with former Owen residents, Mr. and Mrs. George Ward,
who wished to be remembered to their many friends here.
Mrs. Phillip Laube received word of the death of her father, Joseph A. Bauer,
who passed away at a hospital in Missoula, Mont. Funeral services will be held
today, Thursday, February 27, at 2 p.m., from the Gerathty Funeral Home. Burial
will also take place in that city. He was a former Medford resident.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cieslik of Chippewa Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bladl
visited Sunday at Hastings, Minn. with Mrs. Ann Sheehan, an aunt of Mr. Bladl’s,
and also with Mr. and Mrs. John Sample, former Owen residents.
