Mc Bride, Corinne “Cori” (8 September 2001 – 15 July 2017)

Corinne “Cori” McBride, 15, or Pardeeville, gained her angel wings Saturday, July 15, 2017, at the American Family Children’s Hospital due to brain injuries sustained from an ATV accident.

Cori was born Sept. 8, 2001, in Portage, the daughter of Becky McBride and Sam McBride. Cori was about to begin her sophomore year at Pardeeville High School, where she was involved in FFA, played softball and was, of course, a team member of her favorite sport, basketball. She was currently employed at Pride of America Campground, which she enjoyed so much. Cori loved spending time with her campground family, laughing and hanging out with friends, fishing, hunting, and four-wheeling, and spending time with her favorite four-legged friend, horse Sunshine. Cori also adored her nine-month-old niece RaeLynn, who was her pride and joy.

Cori brought so much joy and happiness to all of those she met, with her spunky personality, and willingness to help others. She wanted to be an EMT and neonatal nurse when she got older. Cori’s wish for helping others carries on, as she was an organ donor, and her heart has gone to a person right here in Wisconsin. Although she lives a short life, it was full of fun, excitement, and love.

Cori is survived by her parents Becky McBride of Pardeeville, and Sam (Lisa) McBride of Elk Mound; sisters Amanda (Pete) Dicken of Pardeeville and Brittany McBride of Marshfield; brother Adam Vrbsky of Pardeeville; grandparents Corky Vrbsky of Pardeeville, Ronald McBride of Granton, and Rosemary McBride of Neillsville; aunts Bobbie Preston of Florida, and Rachel McBride of Neillsville; nieces Savannah McBride of Marshfield, and RaeLynn Dicken of Pardeeville; step-nieces, Alyssa and Alexis Dicken of Pardeeville; step-nephew Austin Dicken of Pardeeville; step-brothers Cody Potter (Brandy), Colton Potter, Cadence Potter; step-sister Kara Lao (Nikhom) step-nieces and-nephew Aniyah, Audrey, Olivia, Ambrosia, and Leo; Godparents Devin Sween, Nathan Stowell, and Dan Lejman; many other cousins and special friends Bekah Taylor and Sunshine.

She is preceded in death by her grandpa Harold Vrbsky, aunt and uncle Ruth and John (Itch) Carlin, and Godmother Nicole Smith.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 22, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Community Church in Pardeeville with Rev. Kerry Willson officiating. Visitation was held Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grasse Funeral Home in Pardeeville, Visitation was also held from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Madison.

We would like to thank all the wonderful staff, including doctors, trauma team, donor team, nurses, and CNAs at the American Family Children’s Hospital. They made us feel like home, and did amazing work for Cori and the family with our stay at the hospital.

“Fly high Cori, as you live on in others, we will all miss you and love you dearly. Love Mom, Dad, Amanda, and Adam. Grasse Funeral Service of Pardeeville (www.grassefs.com)  is serving the family.
