Murkowski, Mildred F. (Dvorak) (21 SEP 1918 - 24 JUL 2017)
Mildred F. Murkowski, 98, Edgar, died Monday, July 24, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau
Hospital.
She was born September 21, 1918 in Edgar, daughter of the late John and Mary (Patez)
Dvorak. On May 7, 1941 she married Clarence Murkowski at St. Anthony Catholic
Church, Athens. He preceded her in death on November 24, 2000.
Clarence and Mildred farmed in the Town of Rib Falls for 40 years. Upon retiring
they built their new home on the farmland and enjoyed life. Throughout her life
she continued to enjoy sewing, gardening, baking and was an avid reader.
Mildred was a woman of faith and prayed diligently for all her family. She loved
being part of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives. She was
always ready to welcome you into her home with open arms, her famous hugs and
lots of homemade goodies.
Survivors include her children, Patricia (Harold “Joe”) Peterson, Wisconsin
Rapids; Robert (Barbara) Murkowski, Edgar; George (Charlotte) Murkowski, Edgar;
Mark (Donna) Murkowski, Wausau; and Clarice (Ron) Mroczenski, Wausau;
son-in-law, Lawrence “Larry” Dahlman, Wausau; 24 grandchildren and 45
great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Agnes
Dahlman; two sisters, Agnes Goetz and Diane Mucha and six brothers, John Jr.,
Walter, Chester, Harry, Eddie and George Dvorak.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017 at St. John
Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Thomas Huff will preside. Burial will be in St.
John Cemetery, Edgar. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of
services all at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar.
