Poehnelt, Ronald C. (23 MAY 1959 - 30 JUL 2017)
Ronald C. Poehnelt, age 58, of Abbotsford, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday,
July 30, 2017, at his residence.
A memorial gathering will be held from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 6,
2017, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford.
Ronald was born on May 23, 1959, the son of Matt and Dorothy (Glenn) Poehnelt in
Marshfield. He graduated from Colby High School in 1977. Ronald was co-owner and
operator of the Corral Bar & Grill in Abbotsford. He enjoyed all the customers
that came from all over. He also was ready with a joke for every occasion.
Ronald enjoyed playing chess, traveling, was a history buff, and collected
Packer and other memorabilia. He also loved his pets, Baby Girl, Baby Boy, Mr.
Whisker and Snuggles.
Ronald is survived by his significant other, Sherri Leu, and her family; his
father, Matt of Spencer; his son, Gary Poehnelt of Milwaukee; seven brothers,
Tom (Diane) of Eagle, Richard of Athens, Dave (Carol) of Marshfield, Don
(Jackie) of Loyal, Mike of Colby, Mark of Colby and James of Abbotsford; six
sisters, Julie Schindhelm of Marshfield, Karen (Lanny) Ludwig of Dorchester,
Sandy (Mike) Jakel of Dorchester, Sharon (Henry) Blume of Dorchester, Linda
(Steven) Bach of Dorchester and Donna (Kevin) Kalepp of Westboro. He is further
survived by many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy; and a brother-in-law, David
Schindhelm.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred and will be determined at
a later date.
