Murphy, Beverly A. (31 JAN 1946 – 26 JUL 2017)

Beverly Ann Murphy, age 71 of Monroe, died Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at U.W. Hospital surrounded by her family. Beverly was born on January 31, 1946 in Owen, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harvey and Katherine (Matson) Dearth. She graduated from high school in Greenwood, Wisconsin and married Joseph H. Murphy on March 25, 1964. Beverly and Joseph lived in Brodhead for several years before moving to Monroe in 2015. She enjoyed working at the Redbird while living in Brodhead. Beverly loved to cook for family and friends and was an avid collector of salt shakers, cookie jars, owls, beanie babies, butterflies, and magnets.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph Murphy of Monroe; four children, Brian (Karen) Murphy of Darlington, Katherine Murphy of Baraboo, Joseph K. (Alidah) Murphy of Monroe, and William (Karie) Murphy of Fall Creek, WI; 28 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Herrin of Marshfield; and a brother, Delbert (Carol) Dearth of Wisconsin Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Laura Gaetz; a grandson, Ryc Gaede; and a brother, James Dearth.

A celebration of Beverly's life will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at the Potter's House, W6540 Smock Valley Road, Monroe, with a luncheon to follow. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 5th, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
