Mrs. Clara Palmer of Oregon arrived Sunday and will live at the home of her
brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Richter.
Among those who went smelt fishing at Ashland Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Hendricks, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Henke, Calvin Pawlak and Clarence Mertens and
son.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Rasmussen and grandson, Paul Ruggles, spent last week in
Paris, Ill., where they visited the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Dr.
and Mrs. David Thierl and family.
Mrs. Frank Olszewski met her mother and brothers at Abbotsford and all went to
Fond du Lac to attend confirmation exercises of her nieces, Pauline and Leanne
Rasmussen on Sunday.
Mrs. Peter Steager entered Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley on Saturday,
where she is being treated for complications of the flu.
Ernest Capes of Marshfield was a guest at the home of his brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Capes, on Saturday.
Thirty-six Girl Scots of Troop 251 from Withee and Owen attended the stage play,
"Oklahoma," put on by the senior high school at Marshfield on Saturday evening.
Their parents provided transportation and it was much enjoyed by all. The Girl
Scout Leaders of the troop are Mrs. Thorvald Frost and Mrs. William Krause.
The piano students of Mrs. Ida Munson held their spring pieano recital on Sunday
at the Withee Grade School gymnasium.
