Luoma, Frank L. (27 JAN 1889 – 06 JUN 1969)
Funeral services were held for Frank Leander Luoma, 80, at two o'clock Monday
afternoon at Bethany Lutheran Church, Owen. He passed away Friday morning at the
Havenet Nursing Home of a cerebral hemorrhage. Rev. H.W. Luetkehoelter
officiating and burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Singing "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset" was Mrs. Albert Petke,
accompanied by Mrs. Larry Slobodnik.
Serving as pallbearers were Scott Stigsen, James DeMaggie, Dale Bush, Matt
Schmidt, Clifford Hakola and Voitto Mutka.
Mr. Luoma was born January 27, 1889 in Finland. He was married to Lydia A.
Lehtonen on August 12, 1912 in DeKalb, Ill. She preceded him in death of March
1964. The couple came to the Owen area in 1924 and settled on a farm in the town
of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.). They retired in 1945 and moved to Withee.
Survivors include a son Carl of DeKalb, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Thorvald
(Lorraine) Stigsen, Edgerton; Mrs. Carl (Leanea) Hill, Withee; and Mrs. Ella
DeMaggie, DeKalb, Ill.; none grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
