Dale Tylka, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), was among 448 candidates for degrees
honored a La Crosse State University's 60th annual spring commencement held on
Saturday, May 31, 1969.
Dr. George R. Gilkey, Chairman of the Department of History, gave the
commencement address, speaking on the founding of the institution, originally La
Crosse Normal School.
Mr. Tylka, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Tylka, route 2, received a
Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Health, Recreation and Physical
Education.
As a student he has been active in delta Sigma Phi social fraternity, and has
been on the varsity football and baseball teams. He plans to enter the U.S. Air
Force.
