Bedroske, Myrtle F. (Brecke) (19 MAR 1931 - 6 AUG 2017)
Myrtle F. Bedroske, age 86, of Colby, formerly of Dorchester, passed away on
Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield surrounded in
love by her family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017, at St.
Peter Lutheran Church in Dorchester. The Reverend Shawn Andersen will officiate.
Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10
and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday all at the church.
Burial will be at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home
in Dorchester is entrusted with the arrangements.
Myrtle was born on March 19, 1931, the daughter of William and Bertha (Richwalski)
Brecke in Stetsonville. She graduated from Dorchester High School. Myrtle was
united in marriage to Howard Bedroske on August 2, 1952, at Zion Lutheran Church
in Stetsonville. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2016. Together they
farmed until retiring in 2012.
Myrtle was a faithful member at St. Peter Lutheran Church and active in the
Ladies Aid, LWML, Altar Guild and served when needed. She was also a member of
the Midnight Riders Snowmobile Club and the Green Acres Homemakers. Myrtle
enjoyed bowling, polka dancing, was an avid gardener and liked to put together
jig saw puzzles and word puzzles. Most importantly, she cherished her family.
Myrtle is survived by her six children: David (Donell), Russell (Judi), Loren,
Kevin (Sue), Gary (Camala) and Colleen (Steve) Sprotte; 13 grandchildren:
Amanda, Ryan (Sarah) Lucas, Pat (Lynn), Josey (Travis) Lueth, Benjamin, Emily
(Ian) Zimmermann, Nicholas, Jacob, Maralyse (Collin) Worm and Cassandra, Paul
and Matthew Sprotte; nine great-grandchildren: Noah, August, Paige, Henry,
Adelaide, Finley, Sage, Hunter, Briar, Nolan, Samuel. She is further survived by
three sisters: Elva (Norman) Larson, Annabelle Holme and Gladys Paur; two
sisters-in-law, Sharon Brecke and Arlene Paradies; nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; her special
grandson, Ezra Sprotte; two brothers, Vernon (Betty) and twin brother, Myron;
three sisters: Audrey Vircks, Stella Brecke and Mary Ann Brecke in infancy; five
brothers-in-law: Willard Vircks, Hal Holme, Emil Paur, Don (Betty) Bedroske and
Earl Paradies.
The Bedroske family would like to thank the staff at the Colby Retirement
Community for the compassionate care Myrtle received.
In lieu of flowers and plants, a Memorial Fund has been established in Myrtle's
name.
