Hagen, Lorraine A. (Larson) (24 FEB 1929 - 31 JUL 2017)
Hagen, Lorraine A. 88, Cornell, passed away early Monday morning, July 31, 2017.
Lorraine was born Feb. 24, 1929, in Boyd, the third daughter of Axel and
Gertrude Larson.
She graduated from Fall Creek High School, living most of her life in Chippewa
and Eau Claire counties. Lorraine and her husband, Chuck Hagen, were the owners
and editors of the Cornell Courier from 1964-’73, where she met many friends and
shared many adventures. In addition to travel and dancing, she loved her dogs,
flower beds, planting trees and sewing.
She is survived by two sisters – June Dewitz and Margaret (Dale) Hubbard, Eau
Claire; children – Susan (Ken) Hartzell, Cornell, Dawn Resling, Golden, Colo.,
Chuck Hagen Jr. and Scott Hagen, Wausau, and Donna (Larry) Larsen, Isanti,
Minn.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and very special friends –
Jackie and Jim Smith.
She was preceded in death by her sister – Jeanette Finley, Eau Claire.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church
in Cornell, with Pastor Andy Schottelkorb officiating.
Interment will be at a later date.
Visitation was one hour before services at the church.
