Mark Richard Klabon, 64, died July 25, 2017, at his son’s home in Midland, Texas
after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 3, 2017 at St. Luke’s
Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids.
Visitation will be at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church on Thursday from 10:00-11:00
AM.

WISCONSIN RAPIDS - Mark Richard Klabon, 64, died at 08:11 p.m., July 25, 2017,
at his son's home in Midland, Texas after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 3, 2017 at St. Luke's
Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Timothy Wenger will officiate.
Visitation will be at St. Luke's Lutheran Church on Thursday from 10:00-11:00
AM. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids.
He was born on December 4, 1952, in Withee, Wisconsin to Arthur and Adelle (Henschel)
Klabon. He married Maria Passini on September 15, 1979, in Highland Park,
Illinois. The marriage was blessed with two sons, Quinton and Ross.
Upon graduation from Owen-Withee High School in 1971, he enlisted in the U.S.
Army, where he was stationed at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Following his military
service, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, graduating in 1977
with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a major in accounting.
Upon graduation from college, he received his license to practice as a Certified
Public Accountant. He worked as a C.P.A. for the State of Wisconsin as well as
Wipfli-Ullrich, Certified Public Accountants, before assuming the position of
controller for Mid-State Technical College.
He was an active member of his church, serving in various positions including
youth counselor, financial secretary, and co-chair of the Immanuel Lutheran
School Parent Teacher Organization. He was also active in the Wisconsin Rapids
community, holding leadership positions in the Grand Rapids Lions Club, Wood
County Head Start, and the South Wood County Red Cross.
He is survived by his two sons, Quinton of Milwaukee and Ross of Midland, TX. He
is also survived by twin grandsons, Connor Klabon and Collin Klabon of Midland,
TX, brothers Arthur (Debra) of Colby, Duane (Sharon) of Amherst Junction, sister
Laurel (Andrew) Halstead of Brookfield, and his former spouse, Maria Klabon of
Midland, TX. He is also survived by special friend Catherine Wiley of
Marshfield.
He is predeceased by his parents.
He and his family give special thanks to Maria for being Mark's advocate and
caregiver.
Memorials may be designated in his name to the Immanuel Lutheran School,
Wisconsin Rapids, Tuition Fund.
