Sigmund, Kevin J. (16 JAN 1950 - 28 JUL 2017)
Kevin J. Sigmund, 57, of Colfax, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 28,
2017, surrounded by his family at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Kevin was born on Jan. 16, 1950, in Medford to the late Walter and Isabel
Sigmund.
After attending high school, he moved to Wausau to attend Northcentral Technical
College, where he obtained a degree in welding. He worked for Murray Machinery.
During his time in Wausau, Kevin met his true love, Cheryl Tesch and they were
united in marriage on April 11, 1981. Together they celebrated 36 wonderful
years together. They then moved to Menomonie and later to Colfax, where Kevin
was employed in the area until the time of his illness.
Kevin was a member of Faith Free Church, where he served as an elder. He had a
servant’s heart and loved the Lord. He was generous and was always willing to
help others. Kevin loved and cherished his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting,
traveling with his wife to South Dakota and watching the Green Bay Packers.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Colfax; daughters, Joanie Sigmund of
Colfax and Rose (Steve) Baer of Altoona; son, Luke (Petra) Sigmund of Chippewa
Falls; grandchildren, Lara, Corbin, Gabriel, Gideon, Maya and a little boy due

and Alex Schalte; and their son, Kenny.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kathleen Mahner; and an
infant son, Isaac.
Kevin will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. “Absent from
the body and present with the Lord.” 2 Cor 5:8.
