Tuesday evening, June 17, 1969, the Star Farmer of Wisconsin Awards were
announced at the State FFA Conventions, Green Lake, Wisconsin. Sidney Borgeson,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Sigfrid Borgeson, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), from the
Owen-Withee FFA chapter received the Section 7 Star Farmer Award. Section 7,
comprised of Clark, Taylor, Marathon, Lincoln, Wood and Portage Counties, is one
of 10 FFA sections of the state. One boy is selected from each of the FFA
sections. Sidney, as a member of the courtesy corps. Serving as delegates from
Owen-Withee FFA were Edward Rusch and Jerome Offord, President and Vice
President, respectfully, for 1969-70.
The boys were accompanied to Green Lake by James H. Ferries, instructor of
Vocational Agriculture at the Owen-Withee High School.
