Richmond, Myrna M. (28 JAN 1938 – 31 JUL 2017)

Myrna M. Richmond, 79, Greenwood (Clark Co., WI), passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017, at Marshfield Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, rural Greenwood. Rev. Asafa Rajaofera officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Kurt Humke, Todd Humke, Joel Humke, Dale Humke, Aaron Gregorich, Matthew Stiemann, Nathan Stiemann, and Nicolas Stiemann.

Myrna Marie Meinholdt was born on Jan. 28, 1938, in the town of Eaton, rural Greenwood, to Otto and Dorothea (nee Nindorf) Meinholdt. She spent her early years in Chicago until her parents returned to the Greenwood area in 1945. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1955. After high school, Myrna worked at Farmer’s and Merchant’s Bank in Greenwood. She married Jerald A. Richmond on Sept. 20, 1958, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in the town of Warner. Myrna continued to work at the bank until starting their family, at which time she became a full-time homemaker. She was a member of the Jolly Homemakers Club for 50 years, served as treasurer for the town of Mead for 20 years, and as general leader for the Braun 4-H Club for 13 years. More recently she worked as an election official for the town of Warner. Myrna was a lifelong member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and was active in the choir and the Ladies Guild. She had many interests including garage sales, crocheting and plastic canvas, reading, watching movies, and baking, but especially loved attending her grandchildren’s events.

She is survived by her husband, Jerald, of Greenwood; three children: Wayne (Mary) Richmond of Eau Claire, Susan (Joseph) Stiemann of Greenwood, and Ellen Richmond of Altoona; seven grandchildren: Beth Richmond, and Matthew, Rebecca, Daniel, Nathan, Rachel and Nicolas Stiemann; one sister: Marcia Gregorich of Greenwood; two sisters-in-law: Betty Horn and Rose Caryl Humke of Greenwood; one brother-in-law: Clark Olson of Woodbridge, Va.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents; twin daughters: Janet Lee and Joan Marie Richmond; and one sister: Donna Olson.

Memorials can be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Marshfield.
