On Sunday, June 29, 1969 the Laakso family gathered at the Emil Potocnik home in Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) for a combined family reunion and a party for newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Machek of Los Angeles, California, who were married there on June 15th, and came to spend a week here with relatives and friends. Among those from away who attended were:

Mr. and Mrs. Emil Makinen, Bruce Crossing, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Laakso, Portage, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Machek, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Ewert and Ronda, Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Granquist and family, Greenwood, Wis.; John Laakso, Richland Center, Wis.; Eddie Cass Jr., Muncie, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. George Frahmann and family, Mercer, Wis.

Those from the Owen area were: Mr. and Mrs. Einar Laakso, Mr. and Mrs. Arne Laakso and Michael, Mr. and Mrs. Sol Laakso, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Amacher, Steven and Linda, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Potocnik and Dennis, and Mrs. Anna Potocnik.

A picnic lunch, plus a beautifully decorated cake were enjoyed by all present. A gift of money was presented to the honored couple.
