Horvatin, Anton (17 JAN 1881 – 19 JUL 1969)
Anton Horvatin, 88, of 1607 9th Street, Waukegan, Ill., died Saturday, July 19,
1969 at St. Therese Hospital, after a short illness. He was born in Yugoslavia
January 17, 1881. He then moved to Owen (Clark Co.), Wisconsin in 1907, then
moved to Chicago in 1943. In 1958 he moved to Waukegan. He was a member of
Mother of God Church in Waukegan, and belonged to the Pensioners Club of the
Slavonic National Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Horvatin, on April 25, 1967. He is
survived by his four sons, Frank, Chicago; Tony, Milwaukee, Wis.; Louis,
Minneapolis, Minn.; Bernard, Milwaukee, Wis.; two daughters, Mrs. John (Mary)
Fitz, Chicago; Mrs. Edward (Ann) Baumgartner, Zion, Ill.; 18 grandchildren and 7
great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday, July 22, 1969 at 9:15 a.m. from the Nemanich
Funeral Home, 611 10th St., North Chicago, Ill., to Mother of God Church at 9:30
a.m., with Rev. M.J. Hitl officiating. Interment was in Ascension Cemetery,
Libertyville, Ill.
