Magnusen, Henry Edward (1933? - 9 AUG 2017)

Mr. Henry Edward Magnusen, 84, of Augusta, Ga., entered into rest on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services and interment will be private.

Mr. Magnusen was born in Hannibal and grew up on a farm. He served in the U. S. Army as a photographer and met and married his wife, Eiko in Japan. He loved his life in the military and served tours in Korea and Vietnam.

After retiring from the military, he settled his family in Augusta, Ga. He worked for Travelers Insurance Company and Walker Ford in the service department. He enjoyed his later years, always surrounded by family.

Mr. Magnusen was preceded in death by his wife, Eiko Sato Magnusen in 2002.

He is survived by his children, Elizabeth Magnusen and Hank Magnusen, Jr., both of Augusta, Ga., Jinny Gildea (Edward) of Martinez, Ga. and Elisha Chrzan (Nick) of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Eddie Gildea, Jane Chrzan and Peter Chrzan; and a host of nieces and nephews.
