Bruchert, Emma (5 FEB 1886 – 17 AUG 1969)
Mrs. Emma Bruchert, a resident of this vicinity for 77 years, passed away
quietly at 7:10 Sunday morning, August 17, 1969 at Neillsville Memorial
Hospital. She was 83 years, 6 months and 15 days of age.
Emma Brandt, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Brandt, was born February
5, 1886 in Germany. She came to America with her parents at the age of 3 years
and settled at Glenwood City, where they lived 3 years and then came to Withee
(Clark Co., Wis.), where she resided ntil her death took her to her eternal
home.
On December 13, 1906 she was untied in marriage with Friedrich Bruchert and this
marriage was blessed with eight children. She was the mother of true devotion to
her family and was held in high esteem by her friends. Her loss and departure
will be keenly felt by her family and all that knew her.
Mrs. Bruchert was a devout member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a charter
member of the Ladies Aid, of which she held various offices.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church at
Withee, with the Rev. Leroy Urman officiating, with interment at Riverside
Cemetery.
Six grandsons served as pallbearers.
She leaves to mourn her loss by her bereaved family, four daughters, Mrs. Louis
Buss, Clintonville; Mrs. Laura Rheingans, Richfield; Mrs. George (Helen) Stark
and Mrs. Otto (Irma) Sachs, Greenwood; three sons, Bernard, Milwaukee and
Norbert and Leon, Withee; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away September 6, 1940, and
a son, Leonard, who died on June 10, 1959.
