Thursday, former Owen residents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Gilman, now of Salem,
Oregon, visited here with friends and to the home of her brother, Mr. and Mrs.
Duane Rittenhouse. When they lived here he managed Crane's Feed Store and now
has a feed store of his own in Salem.
Mr.a nd Mrs. Clarence Ponto (Ferne Sorenson), daughter Barbara and son Rickie of
Cudahy, visited Mrs. Anna T. Sorenson from Monday until Wednesday of last week.
Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Thompson of River Falls, Mrs. G.J. Buitenkamp of Apeldoorn,
Netherlands, Holland spent Thursday with Mrs. Anna T. Sorenson. Mr. Thompson
received his Master's in Science and will teach in Milwaukee.
Mrs. Roy Cherrier and Mrs. Pat McKillip of Prairie du Chien visited over the
weekend at the S.M. Munson home.
Classmates of Miss Mary Ann Fritz honored her with a shower at the home of Miss
Janet Makovec Sunday afternoon. Lunch was served by the hostesses, Misses Janet
Makovec, Ginger Gay, Sandy Johnson and Cindy Devine.
Mr. and Mr.s Chris Christophersen arrived home Tuesday morning after spending a
month's vacation visiting their son, Scott, who is stationed in Seattle, and
touring the West and British Columbia. They reported that the trout fishing was
pretty good in British Columbia.
Dr. and Mrs. G.R. Scharer, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wedding and Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Wollum attended the "Heart of the Shriner" dinner at the Westview Country Club,
Marshfield, Monday night.
Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Pabich were Pete's brother and
family from Marshalltown, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. George Pabich, his son, Mr. and
Mrs. Ray Pabich and family of Glidden, and daughter Evenly, Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Mattick of Milwaukee.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Pabich visited her sister, Mrs. Sophie Straub on Sunday.
Saturday they enjoyed a drive to Mead Dam, visiting the Norbert Pabich family,
who are camping there all last week, and who returned home Tuesday.
Mrs. Emery Erickson, son Jim and daughter Karen Haas and family returned home on
Saturday after enjoying an outing in the Manitoerich area.
