Matson, Katherine C. (31 AUG 1890 – 1 SEP 1969)

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) September 4, 1969 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee for Katherine Christine Matson, 79, who passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on September 1, 1969, of a coronary attack. Rev. H.W. Luetkehoelter will officiate and burial will be made in the Nazareth Cemetery.

Mrs. Matson was born August 31, 1890 in Wisconsin and married Fred Matson, who preceded her in death 5 years ago, on June 4, 1913 in Bridger, Montana. They came to the Town of Longwood in Clark County in 1913 and farmed there until 1918, when they moved to the town of Holway, where they have lived since that time. She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee.

Survivors include one son, Harold, route 2, Owen; six daughters, Mrs. Russell (Frieda) Dearth; Mrs. Ray (Amelia) Dearth; Mrs. Elmer (Hilda) Dearth; Lillian Matson, all of route 2, Owen; Mrs. Harvey (Katherine Dearth, route 3, Greenwood; Mrs. Rudy (Anna) Tauchen, route 1, Curtiss; three sisters, Mrs. Alma Geary, Lewiston, Montana; Mrs. Mary Wagner, Hamilton, Montana; Mrs. Elsie Easters, Wilton, California; three brothers, Frank, Yakima, Washington; Ed, Cody, Wyoming; and Ludwig Thormahlu, Spokane, Washington; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
