Salo, Edwin W. (18 FEB 1915 – 31 AUG 1969)
Clark County Sheriff David Bertz said late yesterday afternoon that despite
checking out numerous tips, they still have no definite clues as to whom struck
Edwin Salo as he walked along County Truck N. and fatally injured him early
Sunday morning.
He left a tavern in the Longwood area about the two o'clock closing time to walk
home, about a mile in distance. The fatality was reported to the sheriff's
department shortly after 2 a.m. by Henry Tytor Jr., who said he though eh ran
over his legs before seeing the body and being able to stop. The body was badly
mutilated and Clark County authorities said it was a case of 'hit and run.'
Salo's death is the 12th to occur on Clark County highways this year.
