Thieme, Ernest (29 JUL 1871 – 6 OCT 1969)
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock today (Thursday), October 9, 1969,
at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home for Ernest Thieme, 98, of Owen (Clark Co.,
Wis.). He passed away at the hospital in Stanley on October 6, 1969, suffering
from complications of old age.
Rev. Roger Tellock, Curtiss, will officiate at the final rites, with burial to
be made in the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery at Curtiss.
Mr. Thieme was born July 29, 1871 in Erfert, Germany and came to the United
States at the age of 47 in 1918. He settled near Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) and
two years later he brought his parents and family over here from Germany. He
farmed until 1946 in the Town of Hoard. On July 12, 1901 he was united in
marriage to the late Anna Bernsee in a ceremony performed at Curtiss. She
preceded him in death in 1954. For awhile he resided at the Home for the Aged in
Greenwood, and the past four years was a resident of the Havenet Nursing home,
Owen.
Survivors include a son Arthur of route 2, Owen; two brothers, Morris of
Phillips, and Alfred, Nashville, Kansas.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Harry, who died
in infancy, and Walter, who died of the flue in 1918 at the age of six years.
