Van Horne, Kristine (11 OCT 1969)
At St. Francis House, Madison, on Saturday, October 11, 1969, Miss Kristine Van
Horne became the bride of Mr. James V. Barager at a 7:30 o'clock ceremony
performed by Father Lloyd, before an altar decorated with vases of white
gladioli.
The groom's sister, Miss Jean Barager, played the bridal music at the pipe
organ, and accompanied "The Lord's Prayer."
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Frederick Van Horne of 1541 Ashbury
Avenue, Winnetka, Illinoi, and the groom is the son f Mr. and Mrs. James R.
Barager of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).
Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a floor length bridal gown
of poi-de-soie fashioned with long sleeves, cowl neckline and accented with
Alencon lace. A train flowed from the high Alencon lace waistline, which was
edged with lace. Her headpiece was a three-tiered bouffant veil of silk
illusion, attached to a bow. Her colonial bouquet consisted of white roses and
stephanotis.
Mrs. Ann Sanborn of Madison was matron of honor attending the bride. She wore a
floor length gown of white dotted Swiss trimmed in blue. Her bouquet matched
that of the bride's.
Attending the grooms as best man was his brother, Jack Barager, and ushering
were the bride's two brothers, Douglas Van Horne of Winnetka, and Jan Van Horne
of Detroit, Michigan. The groom and his attendants were attired in tuxedos.
Following the wedding a reception was held at the Holiday Inn No. 2, with the
couple receiving eighty-five guests. Miss Barbara Barager, the groom's sister,
was in charge of the guest book.
Following a three-day honeymoon in southern Wisconsin, the newlyweds are now at
home to friends and relatives at 2845 Moland Street, Apt. 13, Madison.
The bride is a graduate of New Trier High School in Winnetka, and a June
graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a B.S. degree in
retailing, and is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. The groom is a
graduate of Owen-Withee High School and is now completing his last semester of
study at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he is majoring in business
administration, and is a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He is enrolled in the
Air Force ROTC program and will be assigned as a 2nd Lt. to SAC at Denver,
Colorado in March.
