Zager, Duane R. (4 AUG 1936 - 22 AUG 2017)
Duane R. Zager, age 81 of Owen passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the
Clark County Rehab and Living Center.
Memorial services for Duane will be 11:00 am on Monday, August 29, 2017 at Saint
John’s Lutheran Church in Withee with Reverend Tom Myhre officiating. Family and
friends are welcome from 9:30 am until the time of services on Monday. Interment
will be in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery at a later date. The Maurina-Schilling
Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.
Duane was born on August 4, 1936 in Antigo, WI, the son of Richard and Carol (Hilmen)
Zager. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School. His marriage to Sharon K.
Singleton took place on April 25, 1987 in Withee.
He drove truck for Foremost Foods in Owen for almost 20 years and then he was
self employed as a fix it man fixing small appliances and automobiles. Duane
later worked in maintenance at Master Package in Menomonie and then Northwest
International in Abbotsford as a diesel mechanic. He retired and worked part
time at Master Package in Owen and traveled all over with Sharon and friend
Lola. He was also a volunteer fireman and EMT for the Owen-Withee Fire
Department.
Duane is survived by his wife: Sharon of Owen, children: Susan M. Zager, Sandra
A. Zager, Heidi J. Silvan (Zager), step-daughter: Lisa Singleton, grandchildren:
Erica K. (Terry) Peissig, step grand-daughter: McKenzie Singleton, brothers:
Donald (Jan) Zager and Roger (Chris) Zager and a sister: Caroline (Elroy) Hanne
and many nieces and nephews.
Duane is preceded in death by his sons: Richard and Randy Zager.
