Maxam, Hildegarde R. (Beisner) (10 JUN 1923 - 15 AUG 2017)

Hildegarde R. Maxam, 94, of Colby, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at The Waterford at Colby. She was born to William and Alvina Beisner in Dorchester on June 10, 1923.

She married Lowell H. Maxam on January 6, 1945 at St. Peter’s Church in Dorchester, he precedes her in death. They bought a farm in the town of Holton and the family was blessed with many children.

Hildegarde is survived by seven daughters, Monica (Dan) Maguire of Wisconsin Rapids, Marlene (Kenneth) Strasser and Tina (Gary) Heeg both of Unity, Dawn (Jeff) Colvin of Wausau, Sandi (Tony) Bechel of Kronenwetter, Faith (Mark) Heeg of Colby, and Lori (Bill) Heindl of Edgar; two sons, Harvey (Glory) Maxam of Unity and Mark (Barb) Maxam of Unity. She is further survived by 33 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Hildegarde is preceded in death by one sister Edith Plockelman.

Funeral Services for Hildegarde will be held on Friday, August 18 at 11:00 AM at Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester, with Pastor Doris Ruben officiating, burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Peace United Church of Christ on Friday August 18 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Hildegarde’s name may be made to Peace United Church of Christ.

Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with arrangements.
