Uerling, Thomas (12 AUG 1954 - 13 AUG 2017)

Thomas Uerling, 63, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017. He was born on Aug. 12, 1954, to Clarence and Alveria Uerling, Colby.

Tom graduated from Colby High School. He went west where he settled down in Tacoma, Wash. He married Karen Berry on Oct. 20, 1979, in Tacoma. Tom worked many years as a lineman, mostly in Tacoma and sometimes in Alaska.

Through the years, he enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing and the Green Bay Packers, besides enjoying his grandchildren.

After their children were grown and on their own, Tom and Karen moved to Florida and enjoyed traveling.

Tom is survived by his wife, Karen; his daughters, Stephanie Clark (Ben Knudsen), Jennifer Smith (Jim Geueke) and Cheryl Uerling; his sons, Matthew (Tara) Uerling and James Uerling (Tracy Turner); his eight grandchildren and one expected grandchild.

Tom is further survived by his siblings, Donald (Mary Ann) Uerling, Peter (Theresa) Uerling, James Uerling, Mae (Leroy) Mattison, Pat (Bill) Meyers, Janet Lawniczak, Rose Uerling, Jenny (Brian) Shannon and Russell (Christine) Uerling; and many nephews and nieces.

Tom was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Raymond, John “Jack” and Ervin; a sister, June; two sisters-in-law, Caroline Uerling and Judy Uerling; and a niece, Paula Uerling.
