Ystad, Neil A. (30 NOV 1933 – 8 AUG 2017)
Neil A. Ystad, 83, Spanaway, Wash., formerly of Greenwood, passed away on
Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, with his family by his side. A memorial service will be
held on Sept. 9, at Lighthouse Christian Center.
Neil A. Ystad was born on Nov. 30, 1933, in the town of Warner, to Ralph and
Eleanor (nee Olson) Ystad. He was raised on a farm and received his education in
the Greenwood area. On June 4, 1955, Neil married Darlene Smith in Loyal. He
moved to the state of Washington, where he went to work for Boeing Aircraft
Company and retired after 40 years of service. In retirement he enjoyed fishing
and traveling the U.S., in their motorhome. He also was a big fan of NASCAR and
the Seattle Mariners.
Neil is survived by his wife, Darlene, Spanaway, Wash.; his children: Arlan
(Ruthann) Ystad of Puyallup, Wash., Al (Wendy) Ystad of Puyallup, Wash., Arlene
(Brian) West of Hacienda Heights, Calif., Charlene DeLoach of Puyallup, Wash.,
and Keith (Gen) Ystad of Hilo, Hawaii; 13 grandchildren: Allen, Carmen,
Cassandra, Shawn, Justin, Desiree, Neil, Amanda, Tanisha, Peter, Aubree, Betsy
and Kate; 11 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one sister,
Gwen (Fred) Trebe of Keshena; a sister-in-law, Carla Lane of Denison, Texas; and
many nieces and nephews.
