Decker, Chester L. (2 NOV 1915 – 9 JAN 1970)
Chester L. Decker, age 54, passed away early Friday morning, January 9, 1970 at
his home at Route 1, Owen (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, after a lingering illness.
Born Chester Lyle Decker in the town of Warren, Waushara County, November 2,
1915, he was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Decker. He received his
early education in the elementary schools at Thorp, Wis., later attending high
school, he was graduated with the class of 1934 from Thorp High School.
He was united in marriage to the former Marie Boxrucker, Dec 10, 19??, at Thorp,
Wisconsin.
He is survived by his widow, Marie; two sons, Dean, from the State of Washington
and Ronald of Eau Claire; three daughters, (Donna) Mrs. Robert Johnson,
Milwaukee; (Carol) Mrs. Donald Meek, California; (LaVonne) Mrs. Ronald Runge,
Unity; his mother, Mrs. Hollis Decker, and brother Darrell, both of Thorp,
Wisconsin, and eleven grandchildren. His father, a sister and brother preceded
him in death.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, January 12, 1970 at 1 p.m. at the Owen
Funeral Home at Owen, Wisconsin, with the pastor of Green Grove Lutheran Church
conducting the services.
Interment was in the Black River (Riverside) Cemetery.
