Winter, Lydia M.S. (3 DEC 1905 - 17 DEC 1999)

ABBOTSFORD – Lydia M. Winter, 94. Abbotsford formerly of Marshfield and Granton, died Friday Dec 17, 1999 at Continental Manor Nursing Home.

Lydia Margarete Susanne Winter was born Dec 3. 1905, in Fremont Township near Granton. the daughter of Fred and Martha (nee Hillert) Sternitzky She attended school in Fremont Township and also attended the Zion Lutheran Church Parochial School in Granton. She was confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church.

Lydia was united in marriage to Louis F. Winter on June 11, 1924. The newly married couple began faming in Lynn Township and continued until 1971, when they retired and moved to Marshfield where they made their home. In June of 1971 Louis died. Lydia continued to live in Marshfield until 1992, when she mowed to Stratford to live with her daughter. On May 3. 1994. she mowed to the Continental Manor Nursing Home in Abbotsford She was a member of the Ladies Aid at the Zion ELCA, and also a member of the Lynn Birthday Club during the years she and her husband lived on the farm

Her hobbies included gardening,. sewing, crocheting and crafts She was an excellent gardener, who definitely had a "green thumb." Among the many plants Lydia would grow were the very delicate African Violets.

She is survived by one son. the Rev Edward L (Joan) Winter of….(the rest of my copy was cut off)
