Neillsville – Former town of York (Clark Co., Wis.) farmer Fred Griep, 87,
Beloit, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at a Beloit nursing home.
Services and burial will be Friday in Beloit.
He was born April 1, 1892 in Ocheyedan, Iowa, and attended Iowa schools. He came
to this area in 1919 and in 1942 moved to Beloit.
His first wife, Myrtle, is deceased, and in 1964 he and the former Vida Gard
were married here. She survives, along with four children, Elmer, Dale, Doreen
Gard, and Joyce Monroe, all of Beloit. Tehre are several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Also surviving, are a brother, Herman Griep of Marshfield, and a sister, Amanda
Wellenmeyer of Lompoc, California.
