Frankki, Richard F. (3 MAY 1946 - 25 AUG 2017)

Richard F. Frankki, 71, of W4037 State Highway 64, Medford, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center, where he had been a patient for the past 3 days.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church, Ogema, with Mike Peterson officiating.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Logan Wildberg, Ben, Zach and Dylan Frankki, Sam and Randy Geiger.

Interment will be at Leavitt Creek Cemetery, Township of Hill, Price County, where there will be military rites performed by the Spirit American Legion.

Visitation will be at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 4-7 PM on Sunday, August 27 and also at church in Ogema from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Monday, August 28.

Richard was born on May 3, 1946, at Medford, to John Elovy and Alma Sophia (Leino) Frankki.
He attended Leavitt Creek Grade School, Town of Hill, and was a 1964 graduate of Westboro High School. On December 2, 1967, he married Janice E. Peterson, and she survives.

After his education, he entered the US Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After the service, he worked as a machinist in the Twin Cities. In 1973, he returned to the area settling in Medford where he worked at Enerquip Mfg. as a machinist until his retirement in 2010. He enjoyed travel, hunting, fishing camping, games of all sorts and spending time with his family. Richard was a member of Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church of Ogema.

He is survived by his wife, Janice E. Frankki of Medford; children Keith (Stephanie) Frankki of Lidgerwood, ND; Amy (Scott) Wildberg of Medford; and Jennifer (Scott) Geiger of Oak Grove, MN; 8 grandchildren Heidi, Logan and Lindsey Wildberg, Ben, Zach and Dylan Frankki, Sam and Randy Geiger.

Richard is also survived by his siblings Shirley (Jack) Smith of Medford; Jim (Dorothy) Frankki of Medford; Alice (Larry) Rogers of Waukesha; Linda (Ronald) Schmitt of Waukesha; Paul (Judy) Frankki of Stetsonville; Elaine (Jim) Leppala of Watton, MI; Ruth (Wayne) Dupuis of Medford; and Carol (Gary “Fuzzy”) Ellenbecker of Medford.

He is predeceased by his parents, John Elovy Alma Sophia (Leino) Frankki; and his siblings John, George and Alfred Frankki, baby Charles Frankki in infancy; and Ethel Stenberg.

Richard is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and brothers and sisters in faith.
