Mohan, Melvin C. “Fuzzy” (19 SEP 1933 - 20 AUG 2017)
Melvin C. “Fuzzy” Mohan, age 83, of Dorchester, passed away at home under the
tender care of hospice on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017.
A memorial gathering will be held from 1 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017,
at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Military honors to be
provided by the Dorchester American Legion Post #517.
Fuzzy was born on Sept. 19, 1933, the son of Archibald and Anna (Spindler) Mohan
in Marathon County. He was united in marriage to Joyce Kiviko in October of
1958. They later divorced.
Outside of his time taking care of his customers at the bars, first in Colby
then Dorchester, his passions were fishing and bowling. He was the anchor man on
the bowling team and loved to compete with his brother, Ray. Mowing his yard and
planting his evergreen trees gave him great satisfaction. He loved people and
loved being around people.
Fuzzy is survived by four children, Gary (Steve Mallory) Mohan of Burlingame,
Calif., Kenneth Mohan of Dorchester, Gina (Todd) Cottrell of Cincinnati, Ohio,
and Rod (Yolanda Carlson) Mohan of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Vincent
and Rosa Mohan, Olivia and Jacob Cottrell and Rhiannon (Dalton) Hansen. He is
further survived by six brothers and sisters, Archie, Elaine, Charlotte, Mary,
Joan and Jim; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Gerald; five brothers and
sisters, Ray, Shirley, Marlene, Orville and Jean.
In lieu of flowers and plants, a memorial fund has been established.
