Don was a very busy man in his life. He worked for A&P store, Tri-State Breeders, built and ran stagecoaches in Ohio for 2 summers, was an accomplished carpenter and loved being a farmer from 1970 on the home farm being the 3rd generation herdsman. He quit milking his beloved cows (with the help of his best friend neighbor) on April 15, 2017; a true farmer to the end.
He had a gentle way with animals, having many kinds thru the years. He also sang with the Clark County Male Chorus and was in the Lakeland Air Force Band while in basic training.
He attended WI Short Farm Course in 1949 and Dale Carnage Course in 1958. He was a Korean War veteran with a medical discharge in 1951.
