Klug, William "Ed" (13 JUN 1892 – 18 SEP 1974)
OWEN – Services have been set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral
Home here for William "Ed" Klug, 82, of route 2, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), who
died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday at the Thorp Care Center.
The Rev. Alexander Fraser, pastor of St. Katherine's Episcopal Church, will
officiate at the Saturday service, and burial will be made in the Riverside
Cemetery at Withee.
Visitations may be made at the funeral home beginning at 3 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Klug was born June 13, 1892 at Milwaukee and moved to Weyauwega at the age
of 14. He was married to the former Edna Davidson on October 31, 1914 at
Weyauwega, and farmed in that area until 1921.
He then moved to a farm in the town of Hoard (Clark Co.). He retired in 1957,
but continued to reside on the farm.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wilber, Elgin, Ill., and Russell, Spencer;
three daughters, Mrs. James (Vivian) Barrett, Owen, Mrs. George (Shirley)
Cleveland, Withee, and Mrs. Chester (Bernice) Sabon, Mundelein, Ill.; two
sisters, Mrs. Clara Strothenke, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Lydia Donnemenie, Grand
Rapids, Mich.; a brother, Alfred, Weyauwega; 18 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were three sisters and three brothers.
