Albert Bauer, 1003 Adler Road, is the now owner of the A & W Drive-In here in
Marshfield. He took over the establishment May 13, 1965 after purchasing it from
Fred Kawell.
A native of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), Bauer was born July 8, 1925. He moved with
his parents to the Nasonville area when he was a small child.
Bauer was raised in that area and attended schools there. He operated a farm
near Nasonville until 1955, when he purchased a drive-in in Jefferson, Iowa. He
came to Marshfield directly from Jefferson.
He and his wife, the former Alice Rottscheit, Marshfield, were married May 9,
1945. They are the parents of six children: Arnold, 19, who is attending
barber's school in Sioux City, Iowa, Barbara, 18, Sheila, 15, Keith, 11, Denise,
7, and Holly, 6.
While in Jefferson, Bauer was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks
Club. He attends Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church here. His favorite hobby is
traveling.
