Malikoff, Vasili (25 FEB 1900 – 6 JAN 1988)
NEILLSVILLE – Vasili Malikoff, 87 died at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Neillsville
Memorial Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Granton.
The Rev. Nikolai Hodynski will officiate. Burial will be in the Neillsville
Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville from 6 to 9 p.m.
today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
He was born February 25, 1900 in Zuevka, Ukraine and educated there. He worked
in the Ukraine until 1944, when he moved to Germany. He married Nina Maier in
June 1946, in Germany. He worked there until 1951, when he came to the United
States, He farmed in Arkansas, but moved to Chicago in 1952, where he did
factory work. In 1955 he moved to the town of Washburn (Clark Co., Wis.), where
he operated a farm until his retirement in 1967. He had lived in Neillsville
since.
He was a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
He is survived by his wife, Nina; one step-daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Rose) Weidman
of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; three step-grandchildren and three
step-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents and one sister.
