Protivinsky, Mary Ann (Kurth) (12 DEC 1932 - 3 SEP 2017)
Mary Ann Protivinsky, 84, Kennan, and most recently of Prentice, died on Sunday,
September 3, 2017, at the Clark County Living Center in Owen, Wisconsin. She was
born on December 12, 1932, in Kennan, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and
Martha (Weyers) Kurth. She attended school in Catawba, and spent her entire life
in Price County.
She was married to Ernest Protivinsky Jr. on May 8, 1948, in Ladysmith,
Wisconsin. Following their marriage most of their residency was in Kennan. She
was employed by Norco and Jeld-Wen of Hawkins for 25 years until the time of her
retirement in 1995. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Catawba. In
her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, playing bingo,
and casino trips.
She is survived by eight children, Jean (Duane) Pilgrim, Eau Claire, WI, Susan
(Ken) Fisher, Catawba, Debra (Eugene) Kerner, Rib Lake, WI, Penny (Terry) Benesh,
Phillips, Holly (Vic) Boss, Chippewa Falls, WI James, Phillips, Shelly (Will)
Pedersen, Prentice, and Michael, Kennan; by 20 grandchildren and many great
grandchildren; by one brother, Jerome Kurth, Marshfield; and by one sister,
Joyce Lukes, Catawba.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest on February 4, 2007; and is
preceded in death by three grandsons, Dennis Makovsky, Christopher Pilgrim, and
Wayne Lontcoski; by her by 3 sisters, Rheta Simurdiak, Kathryn Koehler, and
Patsy Peterson; and by two brothers, Vincent Kurth and Marvin Kurth.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 8, at Bethany
Lutheran Church in Catawba with Pastor Jody Becker officiating. Friends may call
at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
