Klessig, Harold O. “Otto” (18 OCT 1927 - 26 AUG 2017)
Harold O. “Otto” Klessig, 89, of Ogema, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017
at Rib Lake Health Services in Rib Lake, where he was a resident.
Harold was born on Oct. 18, 1927 in Carlsville to Oswald and Lorena (O’Hern)
Klessig. He was a 1946 graduate of Sevastopol High School. He married Donna Mae
Peterson on Sept. 27, 1952 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Institute.
In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by his children, Linda (Brad Nelson)
Weber and Sharon (Gerald) Hause, all of Ogema, Robert (Cindy) Klessig of Merrill
and James Klessig of Glacier, Wash.; seven grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jeanne (Klessig) Lattimer; cousin, Roger
Schopf; and many nieces and nephews.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Merton and Robert
Klessig.
Otto worked as a milk tester at The Condensery in Sturgeon Bay, and then went on
to work as a welder at Peterson Builder’s Shipyard. He and his family later
moved to Ogema in 1974, where they owned Klessig’s Kountry Kitchen and was a
night watchman in the area. He was a veteran of the US Army, and served in the
Korean War. Otto was a lifetime fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay
Packers. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prentice,
Ogema American Legion and the Ogema Volunteer Fire Company.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private memorial will take place on
Saturday, Oct. 21. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Ogema. A
public memorial service will be held at a later date.

arrangements.
